BIOGRAPHY
Marcel van Doorn (1973) studied at the Utrecht School of Arts (HKU),
After 2 years of 3D-industrial design he broadens his horizon into fashion design.
He graduated with an MA degree at the Institute Français de la Mode (IFM) in Paris (1997).
His career started working at the famous ‘Studio Edelkoort’ and ‘Trend Union’ where he created trendbooks.
During this time he was also the 1st assistant of the creative director at forecasting magazine ‘View on Colour’.
After a few years in Sydney, Australia, where he worked as a fashion stylist, he went back to the Netherlands to become art director at leading design company, ‘Stijlinstituut Amsterdam’.
This is where he was scouted for the job as art director for the monthly instore magazine of Dutch luxury department store, ‘De Bijenkorf’.
Now working on an international level he’s matching his ambition with his refined ideas and exclusivity.
He changes the codes of conventional consumer marketing, delivering a distinctive new language, aimed to set off the products in innovative ways.
As a set designer and prop stylist he still owns a very substantial part of the conceptual foundation of his assignments.
He directs his teams to construct and translate his creative content into inspiring, contemporary environments, or installations
that capture and re-invent the essence of luxury brands like Cartier, Chanel, Dior, and Hermes.
